Star Trek Costumes Will Be Popular This Halloween

by Dave

adultstartrekcostumes250There are plenty of creative ideas for Star Trek costumes if you find your kid invited to a Star Trek themed costume party. A little on line research will usually reveal some good results.

For instance, it’s easy to imagine a tall or lanky child to dress as Spock by donning a blue shirt with the embroidered insignia. You can finish off the costume Spock’s trademark ears, a toy pistol, and the proper wig and eye makeup.

You can let your kid’s friends in on the plan to create some excitement about arriving at the party as the entire crew of the star ship Enterprise. Arriving all together will certainly produce some startled expressions from the other party attendees.

An authentic Star Trek costume would really help in making it possible to create homemade Star Trek costumes for the rest of the party-goers.

A V-necked shirt and skinny pants, or a body-hugging jumpsuit are your options for the boys. Remember that boys’ Star Trek uniforms are almost always long-sleeve shirts coupled with black pants and black shoes.

So as long as the long sleeve shirt is a single color, it should look just like a Star Fleet uniform with a simple communicator badge on the chest.

On the girls’ side of things, try a V-neck one color mini-dress and a black mock turtle-neck underneath. Then you can just sew on a simple patch of fabric in the shape and color of a Star Trek costume communicator badge. Complete the outfit using some black boots and black stockings.

If you don’t exactly have the kind of time to put together such homemade creations, then browse the newest selections of Star Trek costumes from Halloween costume stores. Every year manufacturers put create new product lines to meet such high customer demand.

Regardless of where you get them, you and your children will definitely have fun showing off their high quality Star Fleet ensembles.

How Many Oscar the Grouch Costumes Can There Be?

by Dave

Oscar the Bearded GrouchBen over at Listicles thought it would be a good idea to commemorate Oscar the Grouch’s unofficial birthday yesterday with a list of 25 trashy Oscar costumes.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone in an Oscar the Grouch costume, so imagine my surprise to see a list of 25 (mostly) nice homemade ones.

I think our favorite is ‘Oscar the Competitive Baby’. It’s basically the most realistic costume in the list!

We don’t currently have any Oscar the Grouch outfits in our database, but we do have plenty of other Sesame Street costumes. With the likes of Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby.
