Watchmen Silk Spectre Adult Costume

I paid much more for this costume than it is available for on this website, and I ordered a S. I am a pretty average size 4-6 with maybe a few extra inches in the hips and chest, and the costume fit me superbly. I have a 21" torso and the costume fit great. I don't know why you would need the XS unless you're really wanting it pucker tight or you're a size 2 or smaller. There are only 3 problems: 1. It fits great in front, but there is a bit of bunching around the shoulders in back and around the arms. It also lacks the grommet detailing in back that Silk Spectre's real costume has. 2. The boot covers are much tighter and less forgiving than they appear in the picture, would just order thigh high boots and forgo the boot covers. 3. The garter hooks are quite long if you're 5'5" or shorter, even when they're all the way up it's difficult to get the tension you want on them. Tip: If the rubber belt is bent or bunched, simmer a bit of water on the stove and plunge it being careful not to soak the velcro. Hold it submerged for a couple minutes and then stretch it on a dressmaker's dummy or place between two sheets of wax paper and roll it flat.

Firstly, the costume is really nice. Well made and a comfortable, stretchy material. Belt is nice, boot covers are nice. All around good and so cute. But -- I should have listened to the reviews. Go one size down. I'm a size 8 and the size chart put my measurements to the lower side of a medium. It came and was way too big all around so I'll have to spend a couple hours sewing it down. Don't be afraid to go the one size down, it is a very easy and stretchy fabric. Overall awesome and can't wait for the first costume party!

The sizing for this costume was way off. I tried this costume on in store so I knew which size to order. I normally wear a Medium, never a Small... for this costume I ordered a X-Small. It fit perfect. It was a little snug but looked exactly the way I wanted it to. The material was kind of suffocating, so I decided to go with something else since I will be in a very crowded house Halloween. Other than that, the costume was really cute and I liked that way it fit. Great costume!

This is a brilliant costume, much better than I had anticipated it being. It does have plenty of stretch to it, more than you would possibly expect. That would be the only down side for me personally. I order the size I thought would be suitable, but actually could have gone down to the smaller size, it is generous. A great costume that caused a stir!
